A small tip from this delightful movie... If you have the chance to watch the film, indulge yourself...
RAGING BULL - OPENING CREDITS

Martin Scorsese, Robert De Niro and the Intermezzo from Pietro Mascagni's Cavalleria Rusticana... Few things left to be said...
That is De Niro in the ring not a double
My family LOVES this foodie & music movie !
Bellissimo
I always come back to this introduction.I feel it as a metaphore of the destiny that impends over every single man.Alone ,swinging in the Ring that is life, preparing himself for the blows ahead, certain that he will be defeated, but never abiding. The music of Mascagni, tragic and beautifull ,like a grand lullaby gives the perfect and deserved tone. With a never ending emotion thank you Scorsese & De Niro!
This was the best introduction to any movie I've seen. Robert de Niro alone,. Black and white, Slow motion and of course the beautiful very moving Cavalleria Rusticana.
Sil, Tony, stop goofing off. Phil Leotardo's coming for you.
Enjoyed the film. Any similar movies?
You should probably take a look at Dinner Rush if you haven't yet.
The sopranos. Sil and Tony sparring
This film stays with you forever. De Niro take a bow. We forgive you for stuff like Dirty Grandpa because you gave us films like this.
Tony and Silvio slow mo fighting to this 😂
KPCC got me here!!!
CAVALLARIA RUSTICANA. !!!😪😪😪😪😪😪👏👏👏👏👏👊👊👊
최고의 명작 최고의 인트로 최고의 ost
A film of great atmosphere and a tribute to the human spirit and to tolerance, imo. They had lots of fun even though Prima never showed. 🍷🍕 I love how the two brothers had breakfast the next day.
que cena!!!😢
Buena es
When my young teenage daughter and I saw this movie back when it came out, we left the theater and were ravenous for Italian food. I suddenly remembered I had a coupon for two free meals at an Italian place about ten miles from here so we hopped in the car. We pretended we were being served by Stanley and Tony. Italian food never tasted so good.
It's a man shadowboxing in slow motion.
THE MOVIE!
A person's fight with his own thoughts and limitations. The most important fight, that one has to win . .
This is the opening u don't skip... and even come back again to the movie just to watch the opening
The best opening scene I encountered on ever since !
Indeed nothing left to be said...💖💖💖💖💖💖...
Kushal Guha 2 and half hours of the rest of the film: F this, f that.

When Norman Mailer found Jake Lamotta in a bar he asked: "Could I be a boxer?" Jake replied coldly staring at his beer: "No, you are not unbalanced enough"
There are 15 degenerates out there who do not like this. This movie this music it's just sublime, magnificent.

So simple and yet such a beautiful match of music and imagery.
One of te greatest movie and soundtrack of all Time
per mio babbo
Notice how he is the only one in the ring......reminding us that he is just not getting ready for a fight, but in reality, the battle is within himself
Wrong the hes waiting for it
a monster in his natural habitat
@@Ahmad-ub3cl i think part of the message in the movie is that we all have certain difficulties dealing with some issues, so we tend to self destruct (of course not at this level) in a way, meaning we can also become this "monster".
@@m_cc6649 yes, very true
This blew me away as a kid (especially this scene) and the moving score, also marked De Niro as one of greatest actors of all time

Chef d'oeuvre
I remember writing an essay on this for film class arguing that it abstractly summarises the whole movie. Something about LaMotta/De Niro trapped in the corner and imprisoned between the ropes, all the while seemingly throwing punches at himself. Music both triumphant and tragic. The most beautiful opening in cinema I believe.
and now he's finally down.
At least for the moment, there are two films about sports personalities I just love, the first being Senna, and also this.
I can't even watch this movie today because you see the technique and the tricks in almost every scene. Which is something you should not be able to do. It has not held up well. Which is the way I see a lot of his pictures. The ones I like of his are the ones no one thinks of as being identifiable with him: The Last Temptation of Christ and After Hours. This movie was good therapy for LaMotta, he got to see what a jerk he was. For everyone else it was a lacquered up diagram of a cockroach.
garrison 68 Scorsese does f bombs for 3 hours
Ah,Jeez,no...
I've always loved how for the most part he looks to be jumping on the lowest rope, its so beautifully composed.
who did the score for Raging Bull
Here, the music is an excerpt from Mascagni's opera, Cavalleria Rusticana (intermezzo) ruclips.net/video/ykUCfqvnI9I/видео.html

Not exactly. Love him but he's made A LOT of terrible films, as everyone knows
River Placid Heat
For this alone, the film deserved Best Picture.
agreed, I don't mind how good could be ordinary people, raging bull deserved that year best picture, one of the greatest films on history
@@jorgeesquiviaescobar4149 I didn’t understand it the first time I watched it. But now it is on my top 10 list. In the end, your biggest enemy is often times, yourself. It taught me a great lesson in life. And the movie itself is just beautiful.
Agreed. Sublime
Is this an actual song or was it made for the movie? Either way it's great
No actual song it's also used in the third godfather movie, as the closing song. Beautiful.
+J. Deiss thanks for the reply, but I found the original the other day. I can't remember the the name because it was Italian. It's truly a work of art.
